Sweet Charlotte

This little sweetie took a while to settle into her session, but once she finally fell asleep, it was smooth sailing!

We had fun playing with big, bold colors!

Just for Daddy!

I love the little details. And this little sweetie is perfect!

Welcome Mira!

I just love this family! Back in the fall, we did a maternity/family shoot with Ashala, Chris and Sina. It was so much fun to walk and talk and stop to take some shots. The whole session was great!

And I had the pleasure of helping them welcome sweet, beautiful Mira in January.

We did more of a lifestyle session vs. posed baby poses and it was great! I absolutely loved watching them interact and catching some very sweet moments.
Baby yawns melt my heart!!!!

Sina was just chilling, eating some peppers and cashews. :)

Watching families grow...

There is truly nothing I love more than watching families grow! Being able to take maternity photos for Joni & Derek and their daughter Berkley, and then newborn photos once their sweet little Kylie arrived was so special. I am so grateful to be able to spend time with such beautiful families!

{Some of the} Baby Boys of 2014

It seemed like the first half of 2014 was all boys, then all of a sudden it was all girls! Here are a few of the little gentlemen I had the privilege of photographing in 2014!

What An AMAZING Year!

Wow - I cannot even believe that last year at this time, I had just bought a new camera body and was playing with the idea of taking photos of other people. This year has brought so many blessings, lessons and amazing experiences with friends, family and new clients. I am so unbelievably grateful to each family I have had the opportunity to work with and to those who valued my work enough to refer me to their friends and family! From the bottom of my heart - THANK-YOU for helping make my dream a reality. I am so excited to see what 2015 will bring!! <3

He melted my heart.....

Sweet little Kaysen's session started out a little rocky, but after lots of snuggles by his gorgeous Mommy and me (best job ever!), he fell into a deep sleep and was a dream to photograph!! :) Thank-you Kimberly for the great visit and for the opportunity to photograph you and your perfect little man! <3

The Power of Advertising

I recently started advertising my photography as a business and am so happy with the response!! I placed an ad on kijiji and set up a facebook page and within a few days, I had booked a family session and 2 newborn sessions (this one being one of them)!

I got to meet sweet little Abigail when she was just one week young. She was so alert during our session and such a sweetie!

What a stunning little family! <3

I am so excited at the prospect of turning my love of photography into a business. I love that I learn something new at every session - everyone is different and I love experimenting and interacting with my clients, whether they are newborns, children or adults. This could possibly be the most wonderful, rewarding "job" (I don't even want to call it that because it feels like so much more) I have ever dreamed of!

Just another day in the office.. :)

How could I not love this job?! Sweet baby Brylie was a joy to work with. He was so alert for a good chunk of our shoot, but once he fell asleep, he was out! Such a strong little guy too - at just a week old, he was already holding his head up when he was on his tummy!!

If you love this hat (as much as I do) and want to whip one up yourself, you can find the free crochet pattern HERE!

This little turtle shell pattern can be found HERE. Note: I made the hat with this pattern and it was tiny. I have kept it for the teeny tiny babies, but made another hat using THIS pattern (instead of bulky yarn, I used 2 strands of my Bernat Satin)....

And this super adorbs pattern can be found HERE! Note: I crochet quite tight, so I started my ring with 2 extra stitches and modified a few other things (sorry, I don't remember what else I changed), but this hat turned out WAY too big for a newborn!! Maybe someday I will figure out hat sizes for babies and children alike!! Maybe not.... ;)

Oh, I love baby's teeny little hands in this pic!!!

Congrats Kirsti and Vincent on your beautiful baby boy. He is perfect in every way.... :)
